How to connect a LCD projector to a notebook or laptop computer
Please see reference sheet at bottom of this page.
Your projector may look slightly different but the procedure to connect it to a laptop computer is relatively the same.
Turn on your computer and log in
Remove the lens cap or open up where the lens is on the projector.
Sort the cords that came with the projector looking for the one that has a regular wall plug on one end.
Once you found that cord, use the other end that does not have the regular wall plug and located the port on the back of the projector and connect the plug.
Now locate the cord that has two identical male ends. It is usually black and has two blue ends. The blue plugs have a monitor icon or a rectangle with vertical lines underneath it on either side.
Now connect one of that cord to where it says computer (component video) in.
Once in place, gently tighten screws on the plug.
Now take the other end of the same cord and plug it into the monitor out port seen in the picture above. Note the icon.
Again gently tighten the screws on each side of the blue plug.
Plug the projector into the wall socket.
Press power on the projector.
Once the projector is warmed up, locate the Fn key and the F8 key. Hold down the Fn key and press F8. The image from the projector and the monitor should flicker, but the desktop should then be projected on the screen. If not repeat the instructions in this video.
Please refer to the projectors instruction manual for specific instructions regarding your machine.
